Research activities
Research efforts are undertaken by the station to combat the problems faced by farmers by developing new rice varieties combining yield and resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses, evolving eco friendly and low cost production technologies for Kuttanad through appropriate soil and plant health management practices and need based plant protection measures including biological control of pests and diseases of rice. The station functions as a co-operating centre under the All India Co-ordinated Rice Improvement Project (AICRIP) from 1974.
